About my FMP

For my Final Major Project I'm designing and making two sfx costumes and a prop for a live performance. Because the performance is a horror piece, the costumes, as well as narrative and aesthetics, are meant to shock and disturb in order to grasp viewer's attention.
The narrative concerns the issue of abortion as an example of a needless killing caused by irresponsible acting and moral decent of modern society. I strongly believe that this dark piece can change people's perception that the killers and the monsters are only in the movies.

Both male and female costumes represent the dark sides of human nature in all its ugliness.
The mask expressions  symbolise personality and mental state (anger/fury, quilty conscience),
and the body-costumes represent physicality.
Both sets of costumes will resemble human flesh/skin, and to achieve that natural leather will be used.
